SFD carries out plantation drive

Carrying on it motto of service towards society, SFD (Student for Development) carried out plantation drive in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Kathua.
SFD J&K State in-charge Rahul Dev Sharma presided over the function whereas DEPO Kathua Aruna Sharma and Principal Higher Secondary School Kuldeep Gupta were mainly present on the occasion who inaugurated the drive in presence of other activists of SFD. The activists planted plants of dissimilar species throughout the school premises.SFD state in-charge Rahul Dev Sharma while expressing his views said, “In today scenario militancy, corruption are main threat to the world and on the contrary climate change is one of the major threat to the world”. Throwing light on the organisation, Rahul said that SFD is wing of ABVP founded in 1992 with the motto of saving environment and creating awareness among the people about climate changes, and promote organic farming. “In joist of this, SFD started plantation drive at State level”, he added. On this occasion, SFD City in-charge Naveen Jasrotia said SFD carrying on its motto had started plantation drive at Kathua and would initiate more drive to aware people regarding the importance of plantation. DEPO Aruna Sharma, while appreciating the efforts of the SFD said that this would definitely send a positive message among the mass. On this occasion, ABVP State President Ishwar Sharad also appreciated the efforts of the activists and stressed upon activists to carry on such type of activities at larger scale. ABVP City President Amit Sudan, City Girls in-charge Ankita, City Study Circle in-charge Paawan Vivek, District Convener Mayank, Vishal, Manik Punia and many other students were present on the occasion.
