Jammu Tawi, November 26
Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today convened a public grievances redressal camp at Suchetgarh in which villagers from various nearby areas participated.
The people from several villages including Dablehar, Sai, Korotana, Flora, Rangpur, Badyal Brahmana, Satriyan, Kopad Basti, Baspur Bangla, Badyal Qazian, Mula Chack highlighted their demands and problems related to road connectivity, water supply, power supply, education, construction of lanes and drains etc. The Minister directed the officers to look into the issues of these areas and initiate necessary steps to sort out the same at the earliest. He asked them to make regular visits to their respective areas so that a strict check is maintained on the status of implementation of various development works being executed in different sectors. He also asked the people to cooperate with the executing agencies for better development of their respective areas.
Highlighting the initiatives of government in steering the state towards new heights, the Minister said the government is keen to extend enhanced basic amenities to the people with emphasis on unattended areas. Later, the Minister had an officers meeting to review the status of implementation of various development works being done in these villages. He directed the officers of PWD (R&B) to expedite the pace of progress on construction of various roads in these areas and ensure that no unnecessary delay is caused in timely completion of these vital works.
