Stating that the Shiv Khori Ropeway would definitely give a boost to the Tourism Sector in the state, the Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi today stressed that the project would prove to be a new feather in the cap of tourism sector in the state. The Minister of State said this while visiting the proposed site of Shiv Khori ropeway at Kotla. Responding to the demand of the locals for the early completion of the project, the MoS assured them about the early completion of the Rope way project and directed Deputy Commissioner Reasi , Ravinder Kumar to complete the process of acquiring the land for the same at the earliest.
Adding that the project would provide enough job opportunities to the locals, the MoS said that it would also help them in improving their socio-economic status besides providing them connectivity to Shiv Khori Shrine Board. In this regard, she also asked the concerned authorities to focus on the skill development of the common masses . Priya further directed Tourism department to take necessary steps for the development of Shiv Khori as a Religious tourist spot for increasing the inflow of tourism here.
Earlier, the MoS held a meeting with the district officers at Tourist Reception Centre , Ransoo and reviewed the achievements registered by various departments. Detailed deliberations were also held on black topping of Kanda to Ransoo road, establishment of taxi stand at Ransoo development of parks at Ransoo- the Base camp of Shiv Khori Shrine Board, to increase the tourist inflow to Ransoo and Shiv Khori.
The MoS also listened to the problems of the common masses of the area in a public grievance reddressal camp at Kotla where the people apprised her about their problems and put forth their demands .
