Shopkeeper among two arrested with poppy straw

Police arrested two drug peddlers including a shopkeeper along with poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Post District Hospital Doda conducted raid in a furniture shop and recovered 1.500 kilograms of poppy straw.
Police team arrested two persons including the shopkeeper, who have been identified as Najeeb alias Raju, son of Nazir Ahmed Shapoo, a resident of Doda and Bashir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Shouran Dhar, district Doda.
A case under FIR Number 249/17 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Doda Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post District Hospital Doda SI Firdous Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Doda Iftkhar Ahmed and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir.
It is to mention that Doda Police launched a special drive against the drug menace in the district and in this regard 14 FIRs have been registered since last 8 months and 20 accused have been arrested with large quantity of drugs and psychotropic substances.
