SKUAST-J & JU jointly organise CSTT expert meet

The Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India conducted a five day expert meet for the preparation of English-Hindi-Dogri Glossary in Agriculture which was jointly organised by the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) and the University of Jammu.
Shailender Singh, Assistant Scientific Officer (Agriculture) from the Commission monitored the proceedings of the workshop. Elaborating the Endeavour of CSTT, MHRD, Singh informed that the glossary is almost at the final phase of completion and refinements in the scientific terminology of Agriculture in Dogri language are being taken up in the present workshop. The presentations of the meeting will contribute in evolving literature in Dogri language, recognized as per Articles 344(1) and 351 of the Indian Constitution, as one of the 22
Indian languages to find place in the 8th Schedule.
As the workshop brings together scholars working in different fields, the convergence of a variety of source materials, traditional Dogri vocabulary and methodological approaches have been adopted for meaningful creation of novel Dogri Terminology in Agriculture, informed the
coordinator of the workshop, Prof S K Gupta of SKUAST, Jammu.
