SKUAST-Jammu Farming Research System (AICRP-IFS) awarded best centre at National level

At the  fourth day of 32nd biennial workshop on integrated farming system in its concluding function, which was organized jointly by ICAR-Indian Institute of Farming System(IFFSR), Modipuram, Meerut and SKUAST-Jammu. The award ceremony took place under the chairmanship of Professor P.K. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu as Chief Guest in which Dr. Dileep Kachroo and his team was awarded the best performance main centre AICRP-IFS award among seventy five main centres of the country. This award was bestow to the SKUAST-Jammu for developing a profitable integrated farming system model at Main Campus, Chatha for realizing the net profit upto Rs. 3.04 lac per hectare per annum. Speaking on the occasion Professor P.K. Sharma congratulated the award winner for their performance. He extended his special gratitude to Dr. Kachroo and his team for bringing the SKUAST-J AICRP- IFS centre on the national map. Present on the occasion were Dr. S. Baskhar, ADG, Dr. A.S. Panwar, Director, IFFSR, Dr. Ravi Shanker, Co-ordinator, IFFSR, Dr. J.P. Sharma, Director Research, SKUAST-J and other dignitaries from across the country attending the integrated farming system meet. In the valedictory function the future plan programme of IFS was finalised in which emphasis was lay down on low carbon IFS model and estimation of carbon trading into integrated farming system approach, besides, various strategic research programme on diversification in FS mode and modified the programme of OFR programme. The guidelines for bankable model was also finalized.
