Slathia exhorts students to aim high, strive for excellence

Former minister and Sr State Vice President National Conference Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia on Monday exhorted students to aim high and strive for excellence as sky is limit for talented and hardworking ones in this competitive world.

“While students have to have their own initiative, a role is cast upon parents and teachers to have synergy for shaping destiny of young people”, Mr Slathia said while addressing Prize Distribution Function of Star Secondary School of Intellectuals Maheen Charaka in Bari Brahmna.

On the occasion, prizes were distributed among distinction holders in academics, sports and other activities.

Slathia said while dynamism among students is key to success, a good beginning is also imperative for moulding the future of younger people. Though grooming begins at home yet the children remain greatly exposed to atmosphere at the places of learning, he said while urging the school management to bear this fact in mind.

Rana expressed happiness over the academic environs in The Star Secondary School of Intellectuals and hoped that the management will maintain best standards, as they are dealing with most delicate segment of the society. He also urged parents to have frequent interaction with teachers so as to monitor the development of their children on regular basis.

The former minister said that private schools have been greatly supplementing effort in spreading quality education and exuded confidence that this will go a long way in achieving the objective of higher level of literacy across the state, especially in urban and rural areas.

Slathia advised the school management to take good care of students coming from the lower strata of society, as part of their social responsibility.

He complimented the students for achieving distinction in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities, hoping the institution will maintain this momentum.

The management of the institute presented  a detailed report of the school and dwelt upon the achievements registered in various activities..

Prominent among those present on the occasion included  Chairman, Shabir Ahmed,   Principal-Nazia Malik, Ex Chairman Municipal committee Bari Brahmana, Raman Gupta, President Youth NC Samba Riyas Malik , Mohinder Gupta, President NC Samba and others.
