Snatched SLR rifle, magazine recovered five days after Police-Gujjar clash in Samba

Feb 27: Police today recovered the snatched SLR rifle along with magazine from a nullah five days after the police-Gujjars clash in village Sarore of Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Two weapons were snatched by a group of Gujjars during a clash with police on February 22 in village Sarore of Samba,” police sources here today said.

They said that one of the Carbine rifles was recovered on the day of incident but SLR was missing.”The SLR Rifle along with magazine was recovered from a nullah this morning,” the police said, adding that number of rounds misused are yet to be ascertained.One Gujjar was killed and eight others, including cops, were injured in the the clash which broke out over anti-encroachment drive and arrest of a wanted thief.
