Soldier feared dead, another critical after avalanche hits army patrol in Leh

March 25: A soldier went missing while his accomplice was critically injured after an avalanche hit an army patrol in Leh area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ladakh province.

A report said that the army patrol was hit by avalanche in Turtuk area of Leh today morning.

“One soldier went missing while another was rescued in critical condition,” said the report.

“Two soldiers were swept away by the avalanche. One soldier has been rescued from the avalanche so far. His condition is serious and being treated,” Colonel S.D. Goswami, spokesman of the Army’s Udhampur-headquartered Northern Command, told
