SOS wins U-17 boys hockey title

The SOS School clinched the under-17 boys’ hockey title after they beat Army Public School (APS) Miran Sahib 2-0 in tie-breaker in the ongoing inter-school competitions of Jammu district, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today.

Earlier, in the semifinals, SOS beat New National Higher Secondary School 2-1 and APS Miran Sahib beat HS Simbal Camp 2-1. In remaining match of quarterfinal stages, High School Simbal Camp beat Guru Harkrishan Public HSS 1-0.

 

FOOTBALL: Army Public School (APS) Miran Sahib and BSF School won their respective matches in under-14 category. The Results: APS Miran Sahib beat SOS 1-0; BSF School beat GLHS Bajalta 3-0. Meanwhile, in under-147 boys group, GD Goenka, Jodhamal Public School and JP World School won their respective matches. The Results: GD GD Goenka beat KB Public School 4-2 via tie-breaker; Jodhamal Public school beat Ashoka HSS Krishna Nagar 4-3 via tie-breaker; DPS beat MIER 2-0; JP world beat Maharishi Vidya Mandir 3-0.

 

CRICKET: Bhalwal zone today qualified for the final of the under-17 cricket tournament underway at Satwari Cantonment, here. In the semifinal, Bhalwal boys defeated Miran Sahib zone by nine wickets. The other semifinal was in progress between Marh and Akhnoor zone. Preliminary Round: Bhalwal beat Jammu zone by eight wickets and Marh trounced Jourian by seven wickets. Marches were officiated by the technical penal including Rajesh Dhar, Anju Gupta, Satika Sharma, Farooq, Satpal and Jagtar Singh.
