In its efforts to strengthen the police public relations and to bridge the gap between General Public and Police, SP City South Sandeep Choudhary, IPS on Saturday organised a police-public meeting at Khalsa Chowk in which he listened the grievances of the locals and assured them for its timely fulfillment.
During the meeting, The local of the Nanak Nagar expressed concern over drug menace prevailing in the area which was major threat for the youngster who were involved in a large number. However, SP City South assured them the legal action should be taken against the drug peddlers and urged them to extend their cooperation with police to arrest the accused who are involved selling drug. SP City South also shared his personal cell number with the people and asked them to call immediately at any time if they notice such practice anywhere. He further advised the people that if any person is required to be diagnosed for to get rid of drugs, they can admit him at Drug de-addiction Centre at Gulshan Ground, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu which is being run by J&K Police. During the meeting people raised the issue of frequent traffic jamming and rash driving (of bikes) by teenagers. The SHO concern was directed to ensure smooth running of traffic in area in association with Traffic Police so that the public may not suffer more due to traffic jamming problem and a close vigil be kept over the teenagers running their bike in rash driving to prevent them from incidents.
