SP to hold mega rally in Bareilly today

Bareilly, December 6
Ruling Samajwadi Party has geared up for their second mega rally after Ghazipur in the Rohilkhand region here tomorrow which will be addressed by party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
However, like the Ghazipur rally, which was held on November 23, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav would not be present in the rally which gives enough indications about the family feud within the family.
Former Rajya Sabha MP and SP’s district president Veerpal Singh Yadav said, “We are in the process of giving final touches to the arrangements for the mega rally. Top leaders and office bearers from our Lucknow office will be camping in the city from today onward.”
The entire city is dotted with SP flags and banners put up by local cadres ahead of the party supremo’s visit here after a gap of two years. Uncertainty, however, looms large over the Chief Minister’s attendance in the rally.
He had skipped the inauguration of ‘Dial 100’ scheme here on November 19.
According to sources in the party office here, SP state president Shivpal Yadav has reached here and had reviewed the preparation.
Ahead of the 2016 assembly polls, this rally will gain importance as a test of cohesion between SP leaders and an attempt to mend the fissures between the Chief Minister and Mr Shivpal Yadav.
Candidates, in the meanwhile, have been organising public meetings and motivating people to attend the grand event. Each candidate from Bareilly region, including neighbouring districts such as Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Rampur and Pilibhit, have been given a crowd turnout target of 10,000 to 20,000 people, depending upon a constituency’s proximity from the venue.
For the first time, the people attending the rally would get free wi-fi facilities while the entire rally would be telecast live.
