As the lower house is running without any disruptions for 2 hours and 20 minutes on Thursday, Speaker, Kavinder Gupta, told the house, “I have come to know that two youth have been arrested by police for raising Indian flag.”
“Those who raise Flag of Pakistan should be arrested not those who raise Indian one,” Speaker told the house.
Notably, two youth were whisked away by police early Thursday in city centre Lal Chowk when they were trying to unfurl a flag.
One of the two youth was identified as Sachin, a resident of R S Pora. Sources said that they are being sent home.
Sources said that both the youth are non locals and one of them is a son of some army officer.
Meanwhile, shops pulled down their shutters in Lal Chowk area immediately after two non-Kashmiri youth tried to unfurl a flag on clock tower.
Reports said the duo were allegedly trying to unfurl right wing BJP flags.
