Special voter enrollment drive in Doda from July 1

A one month special enrollment drive started in Doda district fromJuly 1, 2017 to enroll left out voters.
During the period of special enrollment drive, the Booth level officers (BLOs) shall visit door to door for purification of electoral rolls and the already registered electors can apply for addition, deletion, correction or transposition of their data.
The first time eligible voters in the age group of 18-21 can also apply with BLOs during the process.
In this regard a meeting chaired by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Tariq Hussain Naik was held here today which was attended by representatives of various Political parties. During the meeting they were informed about the schedule of special drive.
It was informed that the Election Commission of India has fixed the programme for special enrolment drive for left out voters for a period of one month from 01st July 2017 to 31st July 2017 and the focus should be on the enrolment of first time eligible electors and young citizens in the age group of 18-21 years.
As per the directions of ECI, on 8th July and 22nd July 2017 Special camps shall be held where the BLOs along with BLAs shall remain stationed at their respective polling booths and people can come for the purification of their electoral rolls.
During the meeting ACR asked representatives of political parties to appoint their booth level agents (BLAs) and furnish the list to the concerned officers for further submission to higher authorities. It was also decided in the meeting that awareness camps would be held across the district in connection with the SVEEP campaign.
It was informed that for the convenience of public, a complaint redressal cell has been established at District Election Cell Doda where people can call for any sort of query and help.
