Kathua, April 20
In order to promote sports activities and inculcate spirit of sportsmanship amongst the Police personnel/trainees two days long 1st Sports Meet of Staff/Trainees organised by SPS Police Training School, Kathua concluded today.
The events/games which were played during “Sports Meet” include Volleyball, Badminton, Tug-of War, Basketball and athletics in which various staff members and trainees of 25th BRTC participated actively and displayed their talent, spirit, physical & mental strength coupled with exemplary discipline.
During valedictory function, 03 events which include 100 Mtrs race, 4X100 Mtrs Relay (athletics) and Tug of War were held which enthralled the audience. Gurmeet Singh, Dy.SP (Admn) PTS Kathua welcomed Ashok Kumar Sharma, SSP Principal PTTI Vijaypur, Chief Guest. After the conclusion of games/events Trophies/Medals were presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions by Ashok Kumar Sharma, SSP Principal PTTI Vijaypur Chief Guest as a token of encouragement. The best player trophy was won by Rect.Const. Ishtiaq Ahmad. Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest congratulated all the winners, participants and highlighted the importance of sports in maintaining our physical and mental fitness. In the last, the vote of thanks was presented by Ranjit Kanwar, SSP Principal PTS Kathua who thanked Principal PTTI Vijaypur, Chief Guest, all the participants, organising Committee members for their contribution to make this Sports Meet colourful and successful. While speaking on the occasion Principal PTS Kathua also highlighted the role of games and sports in leading healthy and stress free life and told that such type of events will continue in future also for the welfare of Trainees/Staff members.
