Srinagar-Jammu highway closed after snowfall, landslides

The Srinagar-Jammu highway was closed on Friday morning after fresh snowfall and landslides, officials said.

An official said that around eight inches snow accumulated on the highway at Jawahar Tunnel today morning.

Landslides triggered by heavy rains and snow at Kheri in Udhampur forced the closure of the highway, he said.

Due to triggering of shooting stones, one-way traffic was allowed at Gangroo in Ramsoo.

Heavy reaches in Chenab valley received snow while rains lashed the plains.
