Jammu Tawi, May 31

Hitting out State Government particularly BJP leadership for hurting discrimination with Jammu region in every sphere, State President, Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Rajiv Mahajan said that it has not even spared the educated youth in Jammu division.

The alleged discrimination against Jammu in the selection lists of lecturers to Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) Srinagar and Jammu, recently released by the government, he said, has evoked a strong reaction from the youth of the Jammu Province.

He said that State Government has sanctioned 50 posts of lecturers to Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) Srinagar while the Jammu SSH has got only 21 posts which is another instance of discrimination against Jammuites.

He said that an equal number of posts of Professors and Associate Professors have been sanctioned for both hospitals, but there is a huge variation in the number of Assistant Professors and Lecturers posts.

For SSH Srinagar, 26 posts of Assistant Professors and 50 posts of Lecturers were sanctioned, but for SSH Jammu only 16 posts of Assistant Professors and 21 posts of Lecturers were sanctioned, he added.

Such discrepancies in the number of sanctioned posts for both SSHs have punctured the claims of successive governments that they are committed to equitable development of all regions of the State, he said.

He said, “It is shocking to note that Jammu has been subjected to grave injustice in employment”.

Angered over the alleged bias against the Jammuites, he said “Such act is aimed at spoiling the career of educated youth of Jammu while the youth who were involved in stone-throwing, mob violence, burning of public buildings were given prizes in the form of jobs.”
