SRTC Workers Welfare Assn urges to concede their demands

All J&K SRTC Consolidated/Daily Rated Workers Welfare Association Jammu has urged upon the management to concede their demands. In a press conference held at JKTDC Dak Bungallow, Didar Singh, president of association, said that despite assurance given after the meeting of Board of Directors of J&K SRTC, held at Srinagar on October 26, 2015 regarding regularisation of employees who have completed eight years of service, nothing has been done.
‘He said some of the employees have even passed 13-14 years of service and though High Court of J&K has given direction for their regularization but the department concerned is still in deep slumber.
“Even Minister of State Transport Sunil Sharma has assured to regularize them within 15 days on May 10, 2016 but the deadline has been extended till June 13, 2016 by the management,” he added.
He said a meeting of the general body of the association is going to be convened on June 12, 2016 to decide further course of action.
He warned to start strike from June 14 in case their demands are not met with and a whole responsibility would rest on them.
He appealed the management to take appropriate action in favour of consolidated/daily rated workers.
