SSP directs officers to remain extra vigilant ahead of Shab-i-Miraz celebration

In view of forth coming Shab-i-Miraz celebration, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Dr Sunil Gupta today directed the officers of Sub-Division City West to remain extra vigilant and put nakas on high alert to keep a close watch over the activities of Anti-National Elements/Anti-Social Elements (ANEs/ASEs).
He was speaking during a crime review meeting of Police Sub-Division City West, Jammu.
At the outset of meeting SSP Jammu examined the performance of Police Stations. The main focus of the meeting was to improve the quality of investigation of accident cases, Motor vehicle theft, burglary, NDPS Act and other cases. Besides, missing persons, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders and action taken under preventive measures were also reviewed.
He also directed to look after the hospital areas and target the increasing drug abuse in sensitive areas through beat and special drives.
Sub Divison west is found prone to properly offences which needs to dealt strictly. Extra nafri will be provided for patrolling & making special teams to check properly offences. Overall disposal was not upto the standard, Station House Officers, Incharge Police Posts were directed to raise their competency level and performance specially on property offences and NDPS cases.
Sub Division West was advised to do all preventive exercise in view of Yatra. He took the strict review for early finalization of the pending cases/public complaints to give the relief to the general public.
Others who were present during the meeting included SP City North Dr Vinod Kumar, SDPO West Nikhil Rasgotra, SHO Police Station Bakshi Nagar, SHO Nowabad, SHO Janipur, Incharge of Police Posts under Sub-Division City West and Investigating Officers of
these units.
