Party’s National President reviews political scenario, meets cadre
Jammu Tawi, April 29: BJP national president Amit Shah today, during his first leg of two-day Jammu visit, held ‘Manthan’ with the state leadership and got feedback on the prevailing political scenario.
Shah gave them the tips on further strengthening the organisation.
The Kashmir situation was also discussed during the meeting held at the Convention Hall here.
National General Secretary Ram Madhav and MP Avinash Rai Khanna also accompanied the party president.
Shah arrived here this morning and was given rousing welcome by the BJP leaders. The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists took out a bike rally and escorted the cavalcade of the national leader.
“Shah held deliberations with the party cadre attended the meeting including the ministers, MLAs, district presidents, office bearers,” insiders said.
“Shah issued certain guidelines and discussed how the party organisation would be strengthened,” the sources asserted.
They said that some of the office bearers from Kashmir also expressed concern on the prevailing Kashmir situation.
“Shah said Kashmir is an integral part of the country and we (BJP) are with people of Kashmir. The party president also said that BJP-PDP Government was focusing on the development of all the three regions of the State, while Centre was aware of the Kashmir tension and have framed strategy to deal with it,” sources further said.
They added that some of the members and MLAs have also been allotted duties for different districts in view of cementing the base of BJP.
Meanwhile BJP MLA from Nowshera Ravinder Raina told reporters after the meeting that Mr Shah patiently listened to every member in the meeting and also charted out programmes to further strengthen the BJP in the state. On a question regarding Kashmir unrest or terrorism discussion in the meeting, the MLA said, ”it was exclusively meeting based on party working in the state but BJP will never tolerate anti-nationals to fulfill their agenda in the state.”
”PDP-BJP coalition government will curb the terrorism with iron hands and peace will restore in the Valley,” he added.
Meanwhile MP and in-charge J&K Affairs, Avinash Rai Khann said, ”the party president keenly noticed the concerns raised by the state leadership of the BJP and also issued certain directions in the interest and welfare of the party,”
MoS Tourism and nominated BJP MLA Priya Sethi told reporters that Shah held detailed discussions with the leaders and reviewed the political situation in the state having BJP in coalition.
Shah will later hold meetings with ‘RSS Pracharaks’, members of civil society while tomorrow he will inaugurate a library dedicated to Nanaji Deshmukh at party head office. The BJP stalwart will hold special meeting with the party ministers tomorrow at the party office besides meetings with prominent faces of the state.
