Surprise Checks over purchase of substandard medicines

Jammu Tawi, April 28
State Vigilance Organization (SVO) today conducted a Joint Surprise Check after the allegations of purchase of substandard medicines and on exorbitant rates during the year 2015-16 established prima facia the allegations and further course of action will be taken accordingly.
Similarly another Joint Surprise Check was conducted on the complaint lodged by Ramesh Arora MLC wherein allegations of wastage of state exchequer by way of purchasing new equipments but old models and not using them, purchase of Dental chairs, X-Rays, Dental units and other equipments etc without following due procedure, deduction of VAT twice by the J&K Medical Supplies Co-operation.
The allegations pertain to malpractices adopted in Dental college/Central Purchase Committee. During the course of investigation some of the allegations were found substantiated for which necessary recommendations shall be made to Government for further course of action.
