Rajouri, June 9
MLC Vibodh Gupta took broom to the streets for promoting the vision of creating a clean India in Rajouri town which was followed by cleanliness drive. The programme was organized by BJP Urban Mandal Rajouri. A large number of people including officials of Municipal Corporation, local residents and many political activists were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, MLC Vibodh said that clean India mission is not a government programme but a mass movement. He urged the people to create healthy competitions on cleanliness and take the movement forward. Gupta asked people to form Mohalla Committees and these committees of respective ward/Mohalla with the help of people should clean their streets to support the noble cause of PM in making the environment neat and clean. He urged people to make Rajouri an Open-Defecation Free (ODF). Every citizen should contribute in maintaining cleanliness and also educate the people about it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken initiative of fulfilling the dream of Mahatma Gandhi, who wanted India to be a neat and clean country, Gupta said.
Others who were present on the occasion included Atam Gupta, Kamal Gupta, Ranjeet Tara, Koushal Gupta, Ashwani Kocchar, Raddish Sharma and others.
