‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ held at Jammu University

To inculcate the habit of cleanliness amongst the students and staff of the University of Jammu and to make them aware about the noble mission of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ of Govt of India, Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu organised ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’.
In this connection a programme of Mass Pledge & Signature Campaign followed by Swachhta Rally and cleanliness drive in the campus was conducted today which was attended by a huge gathering. Prof Keshav Sharma, Registrar, University of Jammu was the chief guest at the occasion.
In his address, Prof Keshav Sharma stressed on the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, he cited different examples which signify that we Indians inherit a very rich and glorifying heritage and it’s our moral responsibility to preserve it and keep it neat and clean.
He encouraged the gathering which consisted of Deans, Rectors, Directors, Teachers, Students, Scholars and Staff of the University of Jammu to aspire and do voluntary efforts to make their University the cleanest University.
Earlier, in her welcome address Prof Satnam Kour, Dean Students Welfare elaborately explained the importance and aim of the Swachhta Pakhwada which University of Jammu is celebrating under the aegis of Govt of India.
She also led a rousing pledge which was undertaken by all to keep the campus and the
society clean.
She informed that different programmes like Essay Writing competition and Skit Competition under the topic of Swachh Bharat would also follow in this series.
