Jammu Tawi, December 3
Expressing dismay over the IT amendments passed in the Lok Sabha recently and terming them as a reward for the black money hoarders, a contingent of Panther activists spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh and Yashpal Kundal along with other leaders staged a protest against the move, at Exhibition Ground here today. The agitated protestors raised slogans to express their indignation.
Harsh Dev Singh while addressing the media lamented that the new legislation instead of plugging the lacunae in the existing laws would provide a golden opportunity to the tax evaders to launder their black money and thereby convert 50% of their black money into white.
Accusing different political parties of conniving in the process, he regretted that all big political parties had black money and hence colluded to convert the same into white through the said move. Calling upon the general public to oppose the game plan of various political parties to convert their Black money into white, Singh said that Panthers Party would vociferously oppose the said move and initiate a campaign to expose the fraudulent moves of the pseudo honest leaders.
Condemning the manner in which the Income Tax Amendment Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha, Singh said that that the Bill was passed without any discussion which was not the way to run the Parliamentary business. He said that Union Finance Minister Arun Jailtley furtively introduced the Bill and the voice of the opposition was stifled in the Parliament when it was demanding initiation of the debate over demonetization issue.
Dismayed over the hardships faced by the common masses during the financial crisis, Yashpal Kundal maintained that Panthers Party had always endorsed the crusade against the corruption and black money but regretted that the new amendment seemed to be appalling to pave way for the culprits to convert their black money into white without any fear.
