All the terrorists involved in the killing of civilians in Jammu and Kashmir in October have been killed. Sources in the security establishment say that now the Armed Security Forces are concentrating on the surgical strike in small teams.
Sources said that a new sophisticated approach to tackle terrorism had been implemented with a better coordination plan between J&K Police, intelligence agencies and the Army. Its purpose is to minimize the damage caused by a terrorist attack. However, after remaining relatively calm, the number of killings of innocent civilians in the state had suddenly increased last month. This caused an uproar in the atmosphere.
After this, the security forces started using anti-terror activities more strictly. Its purpose was to bring down the harm caused to innocent people to zero. For this, coordination can be increased between all the agencies related to security. All agencies are working in this direction. That is why the focus has been on intelligence-based surgical operations. Small teams are included in this. The focus is also on getting support from the local people for such operations.
According to intelligence inputs, Sources said that Pakistan-based terror handlers had instructed their operatives operating in Kashmir to kill at least ten civilians whenever security forces launched an anti-terrorist operation. This will make it easier to create an atmosphere of panic. In 2018, 24 civilians were killed, and 49 were injured in various anti-terrorist functions.
Sources said that in the last three years, the security forces took several measures to ensure minimum collateral damage and as a result of such efforts, only two civilians were killed, and two suffered minor injuries.
When asked about the encounter in Hyderpora in Srinagar, the security establishment’s source said that a particular section is active in tossing such things to gain their lost ground. However, Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Dilbag Singh said that the ongoing investigation into the Hyderpora encounter shows that terrorists had the backing of a network in carrying out terrorist activities.
Sources say that the security forces are getting actionable intelligence inputs and support from local people in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The people of these areas have rejected the false propaganda being run by Pakistan.
A source who wishes anonymity said there are instances when security forces had to give escape routes to terrorists to rescue civilians trapped during encounters. However, this was done only to save the lives of ordinary people.
Sources claimed that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is under control. Only 121 incidents were reported in 2021 as compared to 318 terrorism-related incidents in the year 2018. Similarly, there were 202 stone pelting incidents in 2019, while only 39 cases were reported in 2021. However, elements associated with Pakistan are constantly trying to provoke the Kashmiri people.
