It was a joy to witness students from class VII to X dressed as world renowned Poets and Poetesses for an Inter House English Role Play Competition held at G D Goenka Public School, Jammu governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust.
“All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players”…. William Shakespeare. Students spoke at length about various Poets. They really got into the skin of their character (metaphorically) and displayed brilliant dramatic skills. The students were graded on their Pronunciation, Diction, Voice Modulation, Confidence, Poise, Memorization of their script and Body Language.
“The proof is in the pudding”. The following quote explains explicitly the tenacity and sincerity with which the students prepared for the Activity.
It was indeed a difficult decision to select the winners. In Group A (Class VII and VIII) it was Sereen Fatima (Teresa) dressed as Jane Austen who won the first prize, followed by Hannan Chowdhary (Vivekananda) and Manila Singh (Teresa), who stood second.
They portrayed W.B Yeast and John Keats respectively.
Srishti Wali dressed as Charles Dickens (Vivekananda) stood third.
In Group B (Class IX & X), it was Vandit Bhakri (Vivekananda) dressed as Ruskin Bond who won the first position, followed by Pulkita (Tagore) dressed as Louisa May Alcott who stood at second position. Priyanshi dressed as Toni Morrison from (Radhakrishnan) stood third.
The Principal Rajesh Rathore appreciated the efforts of students and teachers.
