TMC MP Tapas Paul quizzed by CBI in Rose Valley chit fund scam

Actor turned politician of West Bengal ruling Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Paul was today deposed before the CBI officials in response to a summon in connection with the Rose Valley chit fund scam, official sources at the CGO Complex in Salt Lake said.
Fifty-eight-year-old Lok Sabha member from the Krishnanagar seat in Nadia district Paul arrived at the investigating agency along with his wife Nandini, three days after the CBI issued summon directing him to appear before it on the Rose Valley issue.The two-time MP was also quizzed several times in the multi-crore scam of the defunct Saradha chit fund case. Sources having information in the investigation said that the CBI officials may quiz Paul regarding his connection with the Rose Valley and if any agreement he has with the firm or any transaction that has taken place between them.
Paul, a popular Bengali actor for over three and a half decades, two years ago had said he was not involved in any wrong doing with the firm and always would cooperate with the central investigating agency.
The CBI also summoned Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay in connection with the scam.
