Top Gastroenterologists from North deliver lectures in Jammu

Top Gastroenterologists from North India gathered here for the last two days and debated different aspects of gastroenterology in the Continuing Medical Education (CME), organized by Dr Vijant Singh Chandel, a senior Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist of the Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu.
Eight Gastroenterologists from Jammu, Srinagar, Ludhiana, Jallandhar and Chandigarh attended the CMS, which was attended by more than 120 delegates from the City of temples.
Principal Government Medical College, Jammu Dr Zahid Geelani, Dr Ved Bushan Gupta and Dr Mohan Lal chaired the sessions.
The Gastroenterologists, who delivered the lectures, included Dr Surinder Rana from PGI Chandigarh and Dr Nirmaljeet Singh Mali from Apollo Hospital, Ludhiana among others.
Dr Chandel also spoke on length on the Gastroenterology, the steps being taken for the patient care of gastro related ailments and related aspects.
Different speakers touched various subjects including Endoscopy, Ultrasound and therapeutic EUS procedures, which help the patients for treatment without undergoing the surgery.
Dr Annil Mahajan, HoD Medicines, Dr Gurjit Singh, Dr Vikrant Singh, Dr Tariq Azad, Dr SL Kachroo and others attended the CME.
Dr Chandel said this was for the first time that workshop on EUS has been organized in Jammu.
