Transport Minister announces sops to JKSRTC Employees

Minister of State for Transport, Sunil Sharma has said that for the revival of Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation 200 luxury buses and 300 trucks would be added to the Corporation shortly.
Addressing delegate’s conference of JKSRTC Workers Union here Monday, the Transport Minister said that these buses would be procured on public private partnership (PPP) mode adding that 100 buses in 1st phase would be added to the Corporation fleet soon for providing hassle free transport facility to the commuters of the State.
The Minister said that welfare of the Corporation Employees is also priority of the Government. He announced several sops in favour of the employees. He said that Rs 6,000 per month upto 5 years besides lump-sum amount of Rs 50,000 would be provided by the Corporation to the next of kin of deceased employee. He said a financial assistance of Rs. One lakh would be given to the employee for treatment who has chronic disease while as Rs 50,000 to the Corporation employee who is injured in an accident. He said the Corporation would also provide a financial assistance of Rs. 1.50 lakh to the employees for construction and renovation of residential houses.
