Two bootleggers held with 90 pouches of illicit liquor

Ghagwal Police today claimed to have arrested two bootleggers and recovered 90 pouches of illicit liquor from their possession in separate areas.
Police said that on the tip off, a police party of Police Station Ghagwal laid down a surprise naka at Rajpura area and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02G-1048. During search of the vehicle, police party recovered 50 pouches/nips of JK Excise (each 250 ml) were recovered. Police at once arrested Bishan Dass son of Tej Ram of Kootah Tehsil Hirangar who was driving the truck.
In this connection, a case FIR number 45/2017 under section 48-A Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation taken up. The arrest was made by Station House Officer Ghagwal accompanied by Incharge Police Post Rajpura in association with a team of DSB Samba under the close supervision of Incharge DySP Headquarters Samba and overall supervision was under SSP Samba Anil Magotra. Similarly, in another incident a police party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO Ghagwal based on some specific information succeeded in apprehending a bootlegger namely Kulbhushan Singh son of Puran Singh of House Number 73 ward number 5 Hiranagar who was possessing 40 pouches/nips of JK Excise (each 250/ML) illegally for black marketing. The accused person was arrested on the spot. In this connection case FIR No. 46/2017 U/S 48-A Excise Act has been registered at this Police Station and investigation taken up.
