Samba police today claimed to have arrested two bootleggers and recovered 81 pouches of illicit liquor in two different cases. Police said that based on the reliable information developed by DSB Samba about the selling of illicit liquor near the Railway Line Bari Brahmana, a Police Party of Police Station Bari Brahmana led by Inspector Mahesh Sharma, Station House Officer (SHO) Bari Brahmana immediately swung into action. Police party organized a naka near railway crossing Bari Brahmana and succeeded in apprehending of a person namely Ramu Rakwar son of Asha Ram of Mehrajpur (MP) and recovered 46 nips/pouches (each of 180 ml) of J&K Excise from his possession. The said person was arrested from the spot and the illegal consignment of liquor was seized. In this connection a case FIR No. 142/2017 U/S 48-A Excise Act has been registered in Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation taken up. In an yet another achievement on a tip off by the DSB officials, police party of Police Post Supwal headed by Sub Inspector Neeraj Kumar Incharge Police Post Supwal effected the arrest of a person namely Kuldeep Singh son of Teja Singh of Rehiya Tehsil and District Samba at Barian and recovered 35 Nips/pouches of J&K Excise from his possession who was selling the same illegally in Barian area. In this connection a case FIR No. 143/2017 U/S 48-f Excise Act has been registered in P/S Samba and investigation taken up. The said person was arrested from the spot and the illegal consignment of liquor seized. Both the operations were carried out under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba and overall supervision of Anil Magotra, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba.
