UP govt issues GO for 7th pay commission and additional DA for state employees

In an effort to give sops to the state employees just before the crucial Assembly elections, Uttar Pradesh government of Akhilesh Yadav has issued the Government Order(GO) for payment of seventh pay commission from the New Year.
Besides the hiked salary for the over 2 million state employees and pensioners, the Samajwadi Party government has also given an additional 2 per cent Dearness Allowances (DA) to the employees from July , 2016.
GO of both the seventh pay commission and the additional DA had been issued last night and will be payable to the employees from the salary they will receive in February, 2017, officials here today confirmed. After the implementation of the new pay commission, the minimum salary of the state employees would not be less than Rs18, 000 per month while the minimum pension of the retired employees would be Rs 9,000 per month.
The average hike of the salary of the state employees would be between Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 per month.
Meanwhile, the official said that the arrears of the DA from July to December, 2016 would be deposited in the GPF account of the employees while from January 2017 they will get in their salary.
