The Yom-e-Rasa was today celebrated by the department of Urdu, University of Jammu and Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary society jointly with great enthusiasm. In this connection daylong celebrations were held in the Prof. Gain Chand Jain seminar hall of the department of Urdu, University of Jammu. The function was divided into three parts.
At the very outset scholars like Brij Nath Betab, Aseer Kishtwari, Aziz Hajni and Aresh Shahbai paid rich tributes to the legendary Urdu and Kashmiri poet Rasa Javedani in connection with his 39th death anniversary. They describe Rasa Javedani a poet par excellence , who has written urdu and Kashmiri poetry which threw light on the National Integration, Communal Harmony as well. They describe Rasa Javedani a pillar of Kashmiri language, who started writing poetry in Urdu and got name and fame throughout the Indian Literature. They informed that Shahitya Academy is translating the monograph of Rasa Javedani into 24 Indian Languages , so that Rasa Javedani could be reached to more and more people in the literary world.
While paying tributes to Rasa Javedani the noted historian of the state Aseer Kistwari quoted the following verses: “Shair the Aache Rasa Javedani, Sarsar the Sache Rasa Javedani, Aseer yaad ate hai college ke wo din, Ki raste me milte Rasa Javedani”.
Aresh Shahbai discussed his long association with the legendary poet and describe him a good Human Being as well as a poet who is well known in Urdu and Kashmiri language.
The 2nd part of the Yom-e-Rasa Celebration was an Urdu Kashmiri Mushira organized in the memory of Rasa Javedani, in which Satish Kumar Safer, Piarey Hatash, En Vinod Kumar, Santosha Nadan, Aeer Kishtwari, Aresh Shahbai paid rich tributes to Rasa Javedani.
The 3rd part of the Yom-e-Rasa was distribution of Rasa Award for the year 2016,2017and 2018, which were given to Rohit Verma, Quleen Kour Bijral, Dr. Aziz Hajni respectively for their contribution for the promotion and development of Art, Culture, Language and literature.
The Yom-e-Rasa celebration was presided over by the noted poet of the sub-continent Aresh Shahbai while Dr. Aziz Hajni, Secretary Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Welcome address was presented by Head, PG Department of Urdu, University of Jammu and President Rasa Javedani memorial Literary Society Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, in which he in detail threw light on the life and contribution of Rasa Javedani towards the Urdu and Kashmir Language.
