US issues worldwide alert for its citizens after Al-Qaeda leader’s killing

The US State Department has issued a worldwide alert to its citizens after the death of Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri. “Following al-Zawahiri’s death, supporters of [Al-Qaeda]…may seek to attack US facilities, personnel, or citizens,” it said. “US citizens are strongly encouraged to maintain…vigilance and practice good situational awareness when travelling abroad,” the caution read.
