A pilgrimage to world’s famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine has been suspended till tomorrow in view of inclement weather conditions while new track has been closes due to landslides in Trikuta Hills of mountainous Reasi district.
At least four pilgrims had died and nine injured yesterday in two separate incidents en route cave shrine.
“Mata Vaishno Yevi yatra will remain suspended for two days i,e on Saturday and Sunday from 1700 hrs till 0600 hrs tomorrow,” a shrine board official here said.
“The weather conditions are not favourable and to further avoid any untoward like incident, pilgrimage has been suspended,” he added.
Meanwhile, Shrine Board authorities have also closed down the new track for the devotees due to shooting stones and bad weather.
However, Shrine Board has announced Rs 3 lakh relief for the deceased killed yesterday in landslide at old track last night.
