JK Montessorie and its affiliated unit JK Little Milliennium celebrated earth day with great alacrity and zeal in the school premises here today. A programme activity aiming at protecting Earth in which students conducted a special assembly on “Earth Day” followed by various programs including debate, quiz competition poems and a skit to express the necessity to spread awareness about the challenges faced by the mother Earth and also conveyed the message that our planet Earth is in crises due to global warming, over population and other critical environmental issues.
Army Public School, Damana also celebrated earth day with great fervor and number of activities highlighting the importance and need for the conservation and protection of mother earth were organized.
While addressing the students, Dr Renu Gupta, the Principal of the School explained very nicely to the audience as to why the word mother is associated with Earth. She made the students understand their responsibilities & duties with regard to the celebration of Earth Day. Few students delivered speeches highlighting the significance of observing the day in context of the deteriorating health of Earth. The speakers projected that the Earth has become almost an ailing planet and immediate care and protection is the need of the hour. On the eve of the World Earth Day celebrations, Kartar Public School, Barnoti conducted a slew of activities in which students from primary to senior secondary sections participated with great fervor and enthusiasm.
Classes I to IV participated in cursive writing competition, classes V to VIII in slogan writing and creative writing, classes IX to XII in poster making. The best performers were given prizes and appreciation letters.
Speaking on this occasion, Er.Nirmaljit Singh, Chairman of Kartar Public School stressed on the importance of saving the delicate ecological balance. It is the collective and individual responsibility of every person, he said. On the other hand, MHAC worked for Earth Day with the hands on experience for the current theme Climate & Environment literacy.
More than hundred students cleaned around 3 acre area around Nag Mandir closely associated with MHAC School Nagbani. Whole of the area was cleaned by the group of students. All the polythene refuse was collected & segregated to be disposed off to purify the environment. Students dug the soil around planted trees & watered them. The students were informed about the significance of Saraca, Melotus & other trees present in the vicinity of Nag Mandir.
Principal, Sween Puri congratulated the students for being a part of this celebration and working dedicatedly on Earth Day 2017 fulfilling the theme Environment & climate literacy.
