Recalls Mufti Sayeed’s contribution in JK’s development

Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperatives, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, on Thursday said that welfare and socio-economic growth of people is prime objective of the present Government led by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
The Minister, while addressing a public gathering at Town Hall Pampore today, said youth have pivotal role in the development and prosperity of the State and they should actively participate in developmental process. He said the Government is alive to the people’s problems and they have great expectations from the present dispensation.
Recalling the contribution of former Chief Minister, Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, towards the development of the State, Mir Zahoor said that he was a legend and a visionary leader who always worked for betterment and welfare of the people of the State. He said his contribution towards Jammu and Kashmir’s development would be remembered for ever. Mir Zahoor extolled that the agenda of Late Mufti Sayeed is being carried out with the same vigor and devotion by the present government.
Referring to the developmental works under execution in the Pampore Constituency, the Minister said that several micro and macro developmental projects are apace in the area. He said on completion of these schemes the socio-economic condition of the people of the area would witness a positive change. He said funding is not a problem as centre Government is providing liberal funds but need of the hour is to identify the action plans. Mir Zahoor said that the district administration Pulwama has already been given directions to prepare plans under different sectors and submit the same to the concerned quarters for arrangement of funds.
On the occasion, special prayers were offered to pay homage to late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Several deputations met the Minister during his visit to Pampore constituency and apprised him about their individual and collective problems. They demanded construction of lanes, drains, culverts, issuance of timber and firewood. The Minister assured them that their genuine demands would be solved in a phased manner. In some cases, Mir Zahoor gave on-the-spot directions to the concerned for immediate redressal.
