Woman delivers outside Sub district hospital in Kathua

A big case of carelessness has come in the Health Department in the remote area of the district Kathua, where a woman delivered a baby girl right outside Sub district hospital (SDH) in freezing, temperature in Bani tehsil.
The act of sheer atrocity came to light in the late hours of Sunday, after no one open the doors of SDH, where the lady was brought at 3 am while experiencing severe labour pain.
Upon arrival, the hospital staff on duty allegedly not opened the doors of Hospital. Helpless in excruciating pain, the woman was forced to deliver her baby on the floor after two hours around 5 am. After the child was born on the floor, hospital staff and administration admitted them both into the hospital. As per hospital sources, the mother and child are both stable and out of danger.
Health official sources said that, the department has prepared an initial report regarding the incident.
Victim Nano Devi W/o Mann Singh resident of Barmota told JK Newspoint that, on one hand, the state government is encouraging institutional deliveries by giving incentives under Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojna but such apathy of government hospital towards patient is a hindrance.
