Woman injured in purse-snatching bid

A 35 years old government employee woman suffered severe injuries including fractures when bike-borne snatchers attempted to grab her purse while she was riding pillion with her colleague, here on Tuesday evening.
Such was the audacity of the attack that it happened on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near Logate Morh, which is always milling with traffic.
Police said, Neelam Devi W/o Thuru Ram R/o Shaheedi Chowk Kathua, a Handicraft department employee, was on his way to Kathua with his colleague Parmanand S/o Sansar Chand R/o Indira Colony Kathua after attending their office at Budhi Sounthal. While they were reached near Logate Morh at around 4.30 pm, two youth on a bike came from behind and tried to snatch purse of the woman. Woman was holding the purse tightly; she fell and got injured meanwhile the snatchers fled away from the spot. Soon after the incident the locals managed to shift them to district hospital Kathua. Meanwhile has launched a manhunt to trace the snatchers and a case stands registered in P/S Kathua.
