Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Jammu is going to organize a major function here at Government Women College, Gandhi Nagar to mark the World Red Cross -celebrated on May 8 every year.
The day also coincides with the birth anniversary of the founder of International Red Cross Crescent Movement, Sir Jean Henry Dunant.
Rich tributes would be paid to the founder of the movement at the event which is being organised by IRCS in collaboration with College management.
The Word Red Cross day is observed across the Globe to emphasize and propagate the objectives of Red Cross Foundation with special focus on alleviating human sufferings, upholding human dignity, protecting life, preventing emergencies and natural disasters such as floods, epidemics and earthquakes through dissemination of the humanitarian values, health and community care, capacity building for disaster preparedness and disaster relief.
All life members have been requested to attend the function.
