New Delhi, April 10
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has asked the BJP candidates for Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election to reach out to the youth as it is the young voter who will play a decisive role in the upcoming elections.
Dr Jitendra Singh, who held a series of formal and informal interactions with the BJP candidates and Election In charges of the Municipal wards falling in district Naveen Shahdara and district Northeast Delhi, said that we have stepped into the election campaign with a firm resolve that we are going to win and the only issue now left is how to optimally strategize the success story of this victory. He further said, even though daily reporting of each day’s campaigning is important, however, “we should bear in mind that the proceedings in each of these meetings is brief and to the point, without repetition so that each one of us has sufficient time to devote to campaigning in the field.” Describing the Municipal Council Poll to be held on April 23 as a very significant event politically for a variety of reasons, Dr Jitendra Singh said, on the one hand this election is happening in the midst of BJP’s serial victory spree and on the other hand, it involves the national capital of India. Even though the last date of withdrawal nomination papers is over, Dr Jitendra Singh said, he is hopeful that most of the candidates who have filed nomination as Independent candidates, will declare their support in favor of BJP’s official candidates. The cake is too big, he said, and there will be a respectable slot to engage each one of the party members including those who were aspirants for party mandate but somehow could not make it.
