Jammu Tawi, November 21
The construction work on Gallander, Tangnar and Kadlabal Water Supply Schemes (WSS)s in Pampore Constituency are in full swing and an amount of Rs 2.89 crore have been spent on these projects so far.
This information was given in a meeting chaired by the Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperative, Mir Zahoor Ahmad here today.
The meeting was convened to review the progress of projects undertaken in PHE sector in Pampore Constituency. The meeting discussed the new projects and schemes which are in pipeline in Pampore Constituency. It also discussed the problems and grievances of the people regarding scarcity of drinking water facilities in the area.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister directed the officers of PHE to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing WSSs under execution in Pampore Constituency and complete them in stipulated time-frame. He said liberal funding is being provided by the Government under all sectors including PHE but need is to utilize them judiciously.
He directed the concerned to conduct fresh field survey of Pampore Constituency and prepare comprehensive plan for augmentation of Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) in the Constituency and submit the proposal to the concerned quarters for funds.
Mir Zahoor said the Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti is committed to provide drinking water facilities to the people of all habitations of the State.
