State cabinet today met in Srinagar and apart from condoling the killing of three policemen in broad daylight ordered transfer and posting of 3 IAS and 3 KAS officers.
Condemning the barbaric killing of three police personnel, the cabinet which met here under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti expressed profound grief over the inhuman killings. Describing the killings as cowardly acts, aimed at derailing the peace and reconciliation process in the State, the Cabinet said that such killings cannot deter the resolve of the Government in moving ahead to bring peace and normalcy to the State.
While expressing solidarity with the families of deceased ASI Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Head Constable Nazir Ahmad Mir and Constable Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh, the cabinet assured that government stands by the families of the martyred policemen in this hour of grief and will extend all possible help and assistance to the next of kin. After the condolences, cabinet approved Budget proposal 2016-17 to be presented by Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu in the state legislature on May 30, 2016.
This was followed by cabinet approving the proposal for transfer and posting of three IAS and three KAS officers. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Udhampur Shahid Iqbal Choudhary (IAS) has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Sushma Chauhan (IAS), awaiting orders of adjustment has been transferred and posted as Director, Tourism, Jammu.
