2,500-year-old crocodile mummies found in tomb in Egypt; pics surface
Archaeologists have discovered 10 mummified crocodiles in an ancient Egyptian tomb.
They had been lying there for possibly more than 2,500 years in a ritual likely to honour Sobek, a fertility god who was worshipped by the ancient Egyptians, researchers said.
While the remains were found in 2019 at Qubbat al-Hawā, the discovery was detailed in a journal recently.
