64,000 cr allocated for Aatmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Scheme in Budget 2021-22

FEB 1: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has begun delivering her Budget speech that is expected to provide relief to the pandemic-hit common man as well as focus more on driving the economic recovery through higher spending on healthcare, infrastructure and defence amid rising tensions with neighbours.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the PM Aatmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana that will spend 64,180 crore on primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare over six years.

This will be in addition to the National Health Mission. As many as 17,000 rural and 11,000 urban health and wellness centres to be set up.
