After a gap of four years, Lolab Bungus Drangyari Development Authority (LBDDA) has got a permanent Chief Executive Officer (CEO). As per news agency, since the renewed ceasefire between armies of India and Pakistan, Kupwara is witnessing the arrival of tourists. The footfall of tourists has increased after the offbeat destination close to LoC was opened for visitors offering them a unique experience.
Officials said that after a gap of about four years a permanent CEO has been assigned the responsibility thus removing officers of the administration from additional charges. The government appointed Ghulam Jeelani Zargar as the CEO of LBDDA. In the recent meeting of District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had assured to appoint a permanent CEO. With the appointment, locals believe that not only will it help in boosting tourism potential but also help the district grow economically. Shahid Wani, a local involved in tourism activities said that LBDDA is since there was no permanent CEO, ‘now we hope the incumbent officer will take forward the mission of promoting Kupwara as tourist destination.
