Schools, Colleges Reopen in Kashmir, Except in Border Areas

Srinagar, May 13: Following the de-escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, all schools and colleges in Kashmir reopened on Tuesday, except for those located in border districts, officials said.

Educational institutions in Kupwara, Baramulla, and the Gurez sector of Bandipora will remain closed for the time being. Officials also noted that Kashmir University is set to resume classes from Wednesday.

Schools, colleges, and universities across the Union Territory had been closed last week due to heightened military tensions. However, with the situation easing, the Jammu and Kashmir administration ordered the reopening of educational institutions, excluding those near the border.
