Bandipora:- The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Saturday morning near the Line of Control (LOC) in the scenic Gurez Valley of Bandipora district. The event witnessed participation from hundreds of Indian Army personnel, Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel, students, and local residents.
The primary objective of the event was to spread awareness about the importance of physical and mental well-being through yoga. The event, organized by the Indian Army in collaboration with local authorities, emphasized the need for a healthy lifestyle, especially in the present times where stress and anxiety are prevalent.
Speaking to the media, a local resident expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing the event. “Today, the Indian Army organized the 11th International Yoga Day to spread awareness about health. People are going through a lot of stress, and yoga helps bring them back to balance,” he said.
Another local participant added, “Hundreds of people joined the event and felt very happy. It helped improve their mental health and brought a sense of peace.”
The event served as a reminder of the unity and spirit of wellness that yoga inspires, even in remote and high-altitude areas like Gurez.
