SKUAST-Jammu Celebrates Rashtriya Boudhik Sampada Mahotsav

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organized awareness programme on Rashtriya Boudhik Sampada Mahotsav, an initiative launched nationwide by Department of Science & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, as part of celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav aligned to the Thematic objective of ATMANIRBARBHARTA. The programme was organized under the overall guidance of Dr. B.N. Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu. The lead experts in the programme were Prof. B.K. Bajaj, Head IPR Cell, University of Jammu and Advocate Manik Gupta, Indian Patent Agent and Patent Facilitator. Both the experts deliberated at length about the importance of protection of intellectual properties; potential patentable innovations and technologies; filing and registration of patents; legal
issues, etc. The programme started with remarks of Prof. R.K. Samnotra, Director Research and Chairman IPR Cell of University and Prof. S.K. Gupta, Registrar and Dean Faculty of Horticulture & Forestry. Prof. Rakesh Nanda, Director Education; Prof. M.S. Bhadwal, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry; Prof. B.C. Sharma, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. S.E.H. Rizvi, Dean Faculty of Basic Sciences were present on the occasion. The awareness programme was attended by Heads of the Divisions, faculty members and students of different faculties and degree programmes. The programme was jointly organized by IPR Cell and NAHEP-IDP of SKUAST-Jammu. Earlier, Prof. R.K. Salgotra, Nodal Officer, IPR Cell welcomed the dignitaries, experts, faculty members and students and briefed about the programme. Dr. Manmohan Sharma, Professor School of Biotechnology coordinated the proceedings of the
programme.
