Kashmiri man arrested for  gunpoint robbery at Mumbai

Jammu: The Mumbai police on Saturday arrested a Kashmiri man for allegedly robbing a jewellery store in Bandra at gunpoint and trying to extort Rs 5 lakh from the shopkeeper. A man wearing a mask and raincoat entered the store and threatened the shopkeeper and a woman staff with a gun on Wednesday, according to the police. The storekeeper lodged a robbery complaint with the Bandra Police station and Crime Branch unit-9 started a parallel investigation.As per reports,  Inspector Daya Nayak received reliable information that the robber was coming to the Bandra (West) railway station on Saturday. His team laid a trap and detained Riyaz Ahmad Abdul Gani War, a 29-year-old resident of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir.The police said he had admitted to the crime and that two mobile phones had been recovered from him. He was handed over to the Bandra police for further action.
